Description of the event
Companies and institutions operating lasers of classes 3R, 3B and 4 must comply with Section 5 Paragraph 2 of the Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance on Artificial Optical Radiation. OStrV Appoint at least one employee as laser safety officer and send them to a corresponding training course.
The training offered meets current legal requirements regarding application-oriented basic training for laser safety officers. Upon successful completion of the final test, each participant receives a certificate confirming the acquisition of the necessary expertise of a laser safety officer according to the German Ordinance on Optical Radiation Protection (OStrV). TROS Laser radiation for technical laser applications with a focus on material processing and metrology.
Beyond the training required to become a laser safety officer, the German Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance (OStrV) mandates that laser safety officers keep their expertise, acquired during basic training, up to date through continuing education. This training course also serves as continuing education for current laser safety officers and can be used as proof of refreshed expertise.
Target audience:
All employees who need to be informed about the operation, potential hazards and protective devices of the laser systems used and who are responsible for monitoring safe laser operation; specifically, this includes laser safety officers and their deputies, but also safety officers, safety specialists, plant managers and decision-makers.
